      Dear Family & Friends,

Fourteen months flies by quick (that’s when I was finishing my 2nd round of chemo in 4 years)…so, yeah, to say that I hate cancer would be a gross understatement considering that I’ve had to battle this at age 42 and 46…it SUCKS but at least it was me and NOT my wife or kids (to sum up I’ve been fortunate to beat Non-Hodgkin’s Lymphoma twice, first bout was small Lymphocytic Non-Hodgkin’s Lymphoma in the first half of 2014 and then I battled Large B-Cell the 2nd half of 2017). By the time you read this, someone else will have been diagnosed with a type of blood cancer (please take 5 seconds to let that sink in). Cancer doesn’t discriminate, everyone is a target, and it can be devastating. However, I’m a fighter and I believe I have cancer for a reason (I know that sounds nuts and I don’t know why) but I want to join the Leukemia & Lymphoma Society in beating the disease.

I am honored to share that I have been nominated to run for the “Man of the Year” for the Leukemia & Lymphoma Society (LLS) and I ACCEPTED (even though I wasn’t really sure what I was signing up for, ha). Honestly, I would not be here, and be blessed to help raise my kids, if it wasn’t for medical advancements in treating Lymphoma. There are so many people/families that are NOT as fortunate as I have been but LLS is an organization that is REAL and makes quantifiable difference (34 of 40 FDA treatment approvals since 2017 have been funded by LLS, just 1 example of how cool this organization is).

So, why am I writing you, simply put this is a philanthropic campaign that runs for 10 weeks to support blood cancer research. This kicks off March 7th and ends at the Grand Finale Gala on May 18th.  The title of Man/Woman of the Year is awarded to the candidate whose team raises the most funds for LLS.

Here is where you come in…
I have an ambitious team goal of raising $200,000 by May 18th (yeah, that’s not a typo) and EVERY dollar I raise is a dollar for cancer research. There are several ways you can support this effort:

      1.       Corporate Sponsorships (attached via this email)
      2.       Sponsor the LLS Gala on May 18th (companies/individuals can attend)
      3.       Silent auction donations (sports tickets, signed memorabilia, vacation homes, etc), attached via this email
      4.       Spread the word (MOST IMPORTANT)! I would love your advocacy to peeps you know that might have a passion for making a difference. I’m MORE than happy to talk to anyone belly button to belly button about my passion for this
My website is https://pages.mwoy.org/in/indy19/sparis. Please check it out! And of course, please feel free to contact me directly at 317-439-4564 if you want to talk or have questions.
Thank you in advance for your support and generosity. It means more than words can express!!

      Sincerely,

      Scott Paris
