COACHING BIO

Weaver graduated from Messiah with a bachelor’s degree in business administration. She then obtained her master’s degree in sports management from McDaniel College in the spring of 1998.

Over the course of her career, Weaver has earned many milestone victories with the Falcons. None were bigger than her 300th career victory than came with the Falcons winning the 2009 National Championship Game. Other milestone victories have included her 400th win on April 10, 2012 against Hood College (10-3), 500th win on Mar. 7, 2016 against Alfred State (10-4), 600th win on Apr. 18, 2018 against Lycoming (11-1), and 700th victory on Apr. 27, 2023 against Lebnaon Valley (2-1).

“We are just as concerned with bringing in great people as we are great athletes,” Weaver said. “I think that makes us unique. Our players have to buy into the team aspect here – they need to want to serve a bigger purpose. Our program doesn’t work if they don’t. We want to win, of course, but we feel winning is a byproduct of how we go about doing things. Playing softball here is much bigger than what happens on the field. When players leave, we want them to feel that Messiah softball changed their lives forever.”

While playing with the Falcons as a student-athlete, Weaver a was four-year starter in the outfield, leading the conference in doubles (20) as a senior while carrying a .469 batting average. She then served as an assistant coach for five years, taking a one-year hiatus in 1997 before accepting the head coaching position at the outset of the 1998 campaign.

Weaver is married to her husband of more than 20 years, Mike, and the couple has three children: Seth, Emily, and Drew. The family resides in nearby Dillsburg, Pa.

Alex Quigley

Extension 2160

Coach Alex Quigley is in his 18th season as Messiah University assistant coach in 2023. Quigley is the primary coach assigned to the Falcons' pitchers and catchers.

Under his tutelage the Messiah pitching staff has been honored with multiple All-American honors, including Courtney Allen '16 who was named NFCA Second Team All-American in 2016. He has been teaching pitchers for close to 20 years, doing guest clinics throughout central Pa., as well as doing private lessons to many of the area's most successful pitchers, several of whom have received DI scholarships.

Prior to joining Coach Weaver's staff, he was the head coach and pitching coach at Boiling Springs High School from 1997 to 2005, where his teams had a combined record of 127-61, winning 3 league titles, and participating in district play in each of the 9 seasons.

In addition to his duties as pitching coach and catching coach, Alex coordinates the softball recruiting, as well as assists in hitting technique and in-game strategy. Coach Weaver says, "Alex is a vital part of this program. He is involved in almost every aspect of the program. He is key from the recruiting process all the way to game time. He has successfully coached our pitchers and catchers and their accolades speak for themselves. We couldn't do it without him."

Residing in Carlisle, Pa, Alex currently serves as the Information's System Manager for the Harrisburg Regional Chamber & CREDC, the Facilities Manager for Murata Business Center, a business incubator owned and operated by the Harrisburg Regional Chamber with the facility located in Carlisle.

Alex is married with one child, Jen, who played second base for Coach Weaver and Messiah from 2000-04 where she had a career batting average of .312 in 151 games for the Falcons.

I found it easy to use. It included all of the information that a college coach/recruiter would look for. I highly recommend it to all college bound athletes!
